Traditional Labor:

The firm assists non-union clients in remaining union free, advises and counsels employers that are the subject of union organizing drives, and represents unionized clients in collective bargaining negotiations, arbitration proceedings and unfair labor practice cases.

Employment Litigation:
The firm represents clients, at both trial and appellate levels, in cases involving alleged sex, age, race, national origin, disability, and retaliation discrimination; alleged breaches of employment contracts; alleged discriminatory or retaliatory treatment; claimed breaches of covenants not-to-compete; theft of trade secrets and alleged tortious interference with contractual relationships; and wage and hour lawsuits.

Wage & Hour:
The firm represents clients in state and federal collective actions and assists clients to achieve compliance with the minimum wage, overtime, wage payment (vacation pay, deductions, commissions, etc.) and recordkeeping requirements of all federal and state wage and hour laws. The firm also conducts preventive audits.

Training & Counseling:

Fiscal & Procurement Methods Advice:
The firm assists government entities and the bidding public on how to structure procurements in such a manner that satisfies fiscal and procurement laws. NHB attorneys have years of experience inside and outside of government in performing such tasks.

Business Development & Compliance Counseling:
The firm helps clients understand the government’s requirements to increase the competitiveness of their proposals. This includes reviewing proposals, bids, or quotations to make sure all necessary information is included; drafting and implementing compliance programs; developing policies and procedures; and reviewing solicitations and related documents for risks, ambiguities, rights in technical data, protection of confidential or proprietary information, pricing issues, and compliance problems. Government Contract Litigation & Alternative Dispute Resolution:
The firm helps clients analyze, prepare, present, and negotiate claims against governmental agencies. NHB attorneys have extensive experience in the litigation of highly complex protests and contract disputes before the federal boards of contract appeals, the US Court of Federal Claims, and the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Moreover, attorneys have extensive experience handling such claims via alternative dispute resolution.

Government Relations, Audits & Investigations:

In addition, the firm has significant experience before the Government Accountability Office, Small Business Administration and Office of Federal Contract Compliance programs.

Criminal Litigation and Forfeiture:
The firm also represents companies in the vast array of criminal-related litigation that that can befall government contractors. The government has an arsenal of different tactics and weapons against government contractors they believe guilty of wrongdoing, including administrative penalties and debarment, criminal and civil forfeiture, and criminal charges arising from public corruption allegations.
