Principal Areas of Work
Corporate & Commercial: The firm regularly handles mergers, acquisitions, disposals, MBIs and MBOs. Additional commercial services include preparing LLPs and professional partnerships (including medical partnerships), JV agreements, technology, intellectual property and insolvency. The team also has experience with AIM admissions.
Commercial Property: The firm handles the acquisition and disposal of commercial premises, landlord and tenant matters, property aspects of share sales/ purchases, leasehold enfranchisement, care homes, development site acquisitions and plot sales.
Employment: The firm advises on employment policies and procedures, implementation, day to day application as well as employment tribunals claims and civil court actions for dismissal, discrimination, breach of contract and TUPE. The firm also advises senior employees and directors. A retainer scheme is provided together with access to insurance services.
Family: The firm handles divorce, complex financial remedy disputes and cohabitation disputes. They also advise on pre/post nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements and all children matters.
Litigation: The firm regularly deals with company, shareholder, commercial and construction disputes, trade mark infringement/passing off actions, debt recovery, licensing, professional negligence and landlord and tenant claims. The private client side advises on litigation relating to wills, trusts and probate, partnership matters and defamation.
Personal Injury: The firm acts mainly for claimants in clinical negligence and PI actions. It specialises in catastrophic injury claims and is a panel member of the Spinal Injuries Association, Headway and AvMA.
Private Client: The firm advises on individual inheritance tax planning, wills and trusts, (STEP accredited) enduring powers of attorney, Court of Protection work, guidance for the elderly, probate and the windingup of estates and executorships. A full range of family and residential conveyancing services are available.
Notarial: Two partners are notaries and able to help with documents for use overseas.
