Gelu is a co-founding Partner and head of Biris Goran's Competition Practice. He has been involved in the first Romanian successful leniency case and in the first court challenge of a three-to-two merger clearance decision by a third party as well as other major cartel and merger control cases. He has over nineteen years of extensive experience in advising clients in complex competition cases including vertical restraints and pricing, cartels, abuse of dominant position or merger control and in managing antitrust compliance programs. Gelu has advised clients in banking, construction materials, fast moving consumer goods, tobacco, breweries, perfumery and retail sectors.

Attorney with the Romanian Competition Council (1997-99), then private practice with a US international law firm in Bucharest, now Dentons. Co-founder of Biris Goran in 2006.
