■ Served as counsel to Thomas Moran, Chapter 11 trustee for Life Partners Holdings, Inc., as well as debtors’ counsel to the Life Partners operating subsidiaries; advanced and obtained confirmation of a joint plan of reorganization, which, among other things, preserves a $2.4b life insurance policy portfolio for the benefit of more than 22,000 investors
■ Serving as counsel to Parallel Energy LP in its Chapter 11 bankruptcy case pending in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware

Oil, Gas & Energy:
■ Represented EnCap Investments LP in a complex, $4.8b transaction in which its portfolio company Felix Energy agreed to sell 80,000 net surface acreage in the Anadarko Basin STACK play to Devon for $1.9b, Devon agreed to acquire 253,000 net acres in the Powder River Basin for $600m, and EnCap Flatrock Midstream agreed to sell portfolio company Tall Oak Midstream to Devon affiliate EnLink Midstream for $1.55b
■ Represented Silver Hill Energy Partners in its $2.4b sale to RSP Permian Inc., which set “a new high-water mark” for Delaware Basin transactions
■ Represented Fisterra Energy in the sale of the Mexican holding companies of Ventika, Mexico’s largest onshore wind farm and one of the largest wind farms in Latin America

Government & Regulatory:
■ Represent energy companies on environmental issues with E&P, midstream and downstream operations
■ Represent Texas Industrial Energy Consumers, a trade association representing the 40 largest commercial energy users in the state
■ Represented the Texas Oil & Gas Association in preparing and submitting testimony and written comments in response to EPA’s proposed refinery rules

■ Represented agent bank in $4b syndicated revolving credit facility with large E&P company
■ Represented one of the largest US exploration and production companies in a $4b 100% amendment to its revolving credit facility
■ Represented agent bank in $3.5b syndicated revolving credit facility for large energy partnership

Intellectual Property & Technology:
■ Represented semiconductor manufacturer in ITC patent infringement case involving imported chips
■ Represented US air carrier in patent litigation in E. Dist. of Texas involving technology related to conversion of loyalty points
■ Serve as counsel to a global accessory designer and manufacturer on US privacy and security compliance and coordinate local counsel on global privacy compliance; have also assisted the company in privacy compliance for marketing campaigns

■ Represented BNSF in the first federal court-of-appeals case on whether obesity can be an “impairment” under 2008 amendments to the Americans with Disabilities Act; court of appeals found in favor of BNSF and the US Supreme Court denied review

■ Represented Olympic Property Partners in a $170m acquisition of a historic, vacant skyscraper in Dallas for renovation to mixed-use property

■ Represented EnCap Investments LP in tax issues involving formation of private equity funds focused on upstream and midstream sectors in North America
■ Representing an international oil and gas company in connection with multi-billion dollar refund claims involving the 2006-2009 tax years
■ Assist international upstream oil and gas company with tax, executive compensation, and employee benefits issues for its US workforce and US expatriates

Trial & Appellate:
■ Serve as National Coordinating Counsel for civil royalty cases for one of the largest natural gas producers in the United States
