Nicola is a partner in the fraud and criminal litigation department at Russell-Cooke LLP. She has a wealth of experience representing clients charged with or under investigation for the most complex and grave offences. Nicola is predominantly instructed on a private basis. She is regularly instructed by professionals who face prosecution for offences which threaten not only their good character but also may need to be reported to their professional body. Nicola regularly represents clients under investigation / facing prosecution for fraud, money laundering and confiscation proceedings. Nicola is also instructed in relation to trading standards prosecutions and most recently prosecutions of farmers for fraud and breach of a variety of regulations relating to the movement and identification of animals. Nicola advises and represents individuals and companies in relation to various regulatory breaches for example investigations by Companies House and has extensive experience in relation to investigations by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs. Nicola advises and represents clients threatened with prosecution for repeated breaches of Planning Law and Proceeds of Crime applications that follow such prosecutions often in respect of larger companies. Nicola is regularly instructed in relation to allegations of serious sexual offences and is often called upon to comment in the media about recent cases and developments in this area.
