Kate Francis has been recommended by Chambers UK for Corporate M&A: Mid Market since 2015 and is once again ranked in 2018’s Guide. Kate’s practice focuses on domestic and cross-border M&A, acting for both listed and private companies based in the UK and overseas across a variety of sectors including insurance, healthcare, technology, media and real estate. Kate’s practice also focuses on capital markets transactions, working with issuers and investment banks on IPOs and secondary fundraisings. Kate’s broad transactional experience includes advising on the UK Takeover Code, complex reorganisations, joint ventures, private equity and general corporate law matters.
Recently, Kate advised Atlantic Carbon Group in relation to possible Code governed offer for the company from three potential purchasers. She has also represented Towergate Insurance on a number of M&A transactions involving the sale or purchase of MGAs, brokers and underwriters. Other clients include Corero Network Security plc, Datatec Limited, Casualty & General Insurance and various real estate clients. She has also advised a number of mid-market investment banks on IPOs and secondary fundraisings including Numis, Canaccord, Liberum, Stifel and finnCap.
