Paul specialises in litigation and dispute resolution for both private and corporate clients with a focus on defamation, privacy/confidentiality, harassment, data protection and intellectual property disputes.
Paul regularly represents clients involved in High Court litigation and has recently acted for several claimants in the ‘phone hacking’ litigation. Paul also provides pre-publication advice to publishers and assists clients from the media and entertainment sector with contractual disputes. In addition to media and IP law issues, Paul regularly advises clients on general commercial claims and the management of legal and reputational risk.
Paul is particularly interested in legal and regulatory issues relating to the online distribution of media and entertainment content as well as the impact of new technologies on existing legal rights and concepts.

Paul trained at Davenport Lyons, qualifying into the firm’s Dispute Resolution Department in 2006 where he represented various media clients including MGN Limited and HarperCollins Publishers Ltd. Paul joined Archerfield Partners LLP as a Senior Associate in 2011 before becoming a Partner in 2016.
Paul has been an editor of the Communications Law Journal since 2010 and has also written a number of articles for other publications including the Solicitors Journal, the International Association of Entertainment Lawyers, the Media Law Resource Center and Copyright World.
