Career

Called to the Bar 1976, Middle Temple; QC 1995; Bencher 2001. MP for Harborough since 1992; Knighted 2012; Solicitor General 2010-12; Shadow Attorney General 1997-2001 and 2009-10. Called to the Northern Ireland Bar 2010. Developed Deferred Prosecution Agreements (Section 45 and Schedule 17 of The Crime and Courts Act 2013) for use in cases of corporate bribery, money laundering and other economic crimes.
