Richard has a varied general practice but his principle areas of expertise are clinical negligence, personal injury, judicial review and fatal accident inquiries. He is experienced in dealing with high value and complex matters, including appeal work up to and including the Inner House of the Court of Session and UK Supreme Court. Richard is one of the Standing Junior Counsel to the Advocate General for Scotland, in which role he undertakes a variety of work in the sphere of public law. Outside practice as an Advocate, Richard chairs Conduct in Sport disciplinary panels under the Sport Scotland umbrella.
