Julia is a specialist extradition practitioner, who has acted in many high-profile cases at the forefront of developments in the law. Recent examples include the leading Article 3 ‘class action’ cases in respect of Romania as well as complex litigation in relation to prison conditions in Greece and Bulgaria. She has appeared for the successful party in the most recent Divisional Court authorities on fugitive status (Wisniewski v Poland  WLR (D) 122), deliberate absence from trial (Cretu v Romania  WLR (D) 108), and technical issues relating to the validity of European arrest warrants (Edutanu v Iasi Court of Law, Romania  WLR (D) 045).
Julia's practice also encompasses public inquiry and serious criminal work. She is currently instructed to act in the Undercover Policing Inquiry chaired by Sir John Mitting and has appeared in criminal proceedings for defendants charged with murder, manslaughter and serious fraud.
Julia is a member of the Defence Extradition Lawyers Forum, the Extradition Lawyers Association and the Criminal Bar Association.
