Profile submitted by Christopher Henley QC
Chris Henley QC specialises in fraud, terrorism, homicide and other serious crime. He has acted in many terrorism trials, concerning both domestic terror plots eg 21/7, Operation Munda (grooming vulnerable young men for jihad), Operation Iridescent (fundraising for Al Shabaab) and terrorist activity abroad in Syria and Pakistan. He has addressed the Muslim Council of Britain on terrorist legislation and advised a charity providing humanitarian aid to Syria. His fraud work includes cases prosecuted by HMRC, the SFO, and the Department for Business Innovation and Skills eg Film Finance fraud, tax fraud in the construction industry, boiler rooms, MTICs. He has defended in several of the highest profile murder trials, for example the Damilola Taylor trial, the failed Daniel Morgan murder case (notorious murder in 1987 of a private investigator; the investigation has been consistently tainted by allegations of police corruption). He recently successfully defended the Head of a Prep School charged with historic child cruelty.
