Tim practises in Commercial law, Public law, and International Commercial Arbitration. He has significant experience of handling substantial and high value matters in all these areas.
He regularly appears in Commercial matters in the Sheriff Court and Court of Session (including the Commercial Court). He, particularly, enjoys dealing with complex areas such as construction, financial services regulation, tax, trusts, and intellectual property, and succession matters. In Public law, he has a broad experience of judicial review claims and statutory appeals in the Court of Session, with particular experience in the fields of public procurement and professional discipline matters.
Some examples of recent work include: defending a multi-million pound damages claim for breach of director’s duties in the Court of Session; pursuing a multi-million dollar claim for breach of contract on behalf of an Oil & Gas company; and defending a claim for breach of intellectual property in the name 'Tartan Army'.
