Bankruptcy, Insolvency & Restructuring: The firm has the largest and most sophisticated bankruptcy, insolvency and restructuring practice in Puerto Rico, dealing with complex distressed financial situations, such as workouts, reorganisations, acquisitions, chapter 11 bankruptcies and litigation in numerous industries. The firm’s clients include banks and other financial institutions, investments funds, secured and unsecured creditors, indenture trustees and bondholders, landlords, shareholders, purchasers, vendors and other interested parties.

Commercial Lending & Banking: The firm represents US, European and Puerto Rico banks in a wide variety of financing transactions, including acquisition, asset based, real estate based and cash flow based loans, structured financings and workouts. Tax: The firm’s tax practice includes all areas of Puerto Rico taxation, including income, sales, property, excise and municipal license taxes. It has experience in tax planning for the initial structuring of Puerto Rico operations, reorganisations, liquidations, and various other types of transactions. The firm also assists clients in connection with the negotiation of tax incentives, closing agreements, rulings on complex issues, qualification of pension plans, and other administrative procedures with the Puerto Rico Treasury Department, the Centre for the Collection of Municipal Revenues and municipalities.
