Energy & Infrastructure:
■BLC acts for Anaklia Development Consortium (ADC), for the development of Anaklia Deep Sea Port. ADC has succeeded in the tender announced by the Government of Georgia. ■Representing Georgian Co-Investment Fund (a private investment fund) in negotiating the implementation agreement, as well other operational contracts for several HPPs currently developed in Georgia. Partner in charge – Ketti Kvartskhava
■Assisting the local venture of Clean Energy (Norway) and Tata Power (India) in construction of Shuakhevi HPP. BLC has assisted the Client in drafting the Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Georgia and has advised in broad project related issues, including land acquisition, corporate, financing and other matters. Corporate / M&A:
■Advising Georgian Healthcare Group (GHG) in the IPO at the London Stock Exchange. Notably, GHG achieved the premium listing and raised about USD 100 as a result. Partner in charge – Alexander Bolkvadze, Giorgi Batlidze
■Acting for a South Korean Investment company in acquisition an old hospital (named after Mikhailov, which today has status of cultural heritage) located in the center of Tbilisi intended for a 5 star hotel and class A office building. Partner in charge – Alexander Bolkvadze
■Advising Georgian Co-Investment Fund in acquisition of Mowat Georgia LLC. The latter is a holder of a large-scale real estate development project in the heart of Tbilisi. Anticipated investment value is minimum USD 20 million. Partner in charge – Ketti Kvartskhava

Litigation & Arbitration:
■Representing Sun Petroleum Georgia (one of the largest retailers on petroleum market) in a precedential dispute initiated against the Competition Agency of Georgia as a reaction to its conclusion establishing the existence of a cartel on the retail fuel market and imposing of multi-million penalty. ■BLC has become very active in insolvency and currently acts for several companies who have filed the insolvency applications. BLC also has wide experience in representing the creditors in similar setting. Partners in charge – Ketti Kvartskhava, Giorgi Batlidze
■Representing the interests of several large companies (including the cloths retailer, importer of hygiene products, mining company, etc.) in ongoing multi-million disputes with the Revenue Service of Georgia. The subject matter of dispute is illegal tax assessment and imposition of large sanctions, as a result. Notably, BLC manages to be very successful in downsizing the penalties. ■Representing Castel Georgia (one of the largest local beverages producers) in obtaining the trademark license and know-how from Kaltenberg (Koning Ludwig). Partner in charge - Alexander Bolkvadze. BLC also acted in an analogous matter where it represented the interests of Teliani Valley (local wine producer) in obtaining similar rights for Heineken production.
