Department profile submitted by Baker McKenzie

The team is widely known for representing multinational clients in antitrust investigations, with the subject matter of such investigations ranging from various forms of abuse of market dominance, restrictive practices to bid-rigging, cartels, collusion with state authorities and anticompetitive agreements generally.

It regularly assists multinationals with implementing their antitrust compliance, anti-bribery and, increasingly, trade sanctions compliance policies in a manner which minimizes exposure to Russian antitrust liability. The team was involved in several precedent-setting abuse of dominance cases concerning refusal to do business with prospective commercial partners, and has assisted a number of multinational clients with Russian government inquiries into restrictions imposed on local commercial partners as a consequence of trade sanctions.

The group is exceptional in that each member of the team, often having a background in a neighbouring practice area, complements each other in his/her field of specialization both in antitrust and other fields, contributes his uniqueness into the overall group expertise, creating a harmonious group of professionals offering a holistic approach to any issue and client approaching it in any area of antitrust regulation in Russia.

All this is coupled with the global approach, know-how and experience that the team is practicing being a member of Baker McKenzie global antitrust team.
