Steven D. Spencer is the leader of Morgan Lewis's Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice. His practice focuses on collectively bargained employee benefit plans, particularly as they are affected by various labor and employment laws. He regularly advises employers that contribute to multiemployer pension and welfare trust funds regarding withdrawal liability and the Pension Protection Act of 2006.
Graduated from Columbia University Law School (1978, JD) and Cornell University (1975, BS). Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New York. He also teaches Employee Benefit Law at the University of Pennsylvania and Villanova University Law Schools.
