• Advising on all of the major transport PPP projects under way in the United States, including the US$1.5 billion financing of the Midtown Tunnel in Virginia; the US$1.1 billion Presidio Parkway project in San Francisco; and the US$935 million I-95 express lanes project in Virginia
• Represented Spanish wind turbine manufacturer Gamesa in a US$888 million wind project
• Advised Recurrent Energy in its sale of four photovoltaic facilities to Google and KKR
• Advised Tennessee Valley Authority on its innovative US$1 billion lease-purchase financing of the John Sevier power plant

Finance:
• Ranked No.1 US municipal bond counsel for more than a decade and serves as underwriters’ counsel to the most active investment banks in the market; helped the State of California and its agencies to raise more than US$18 billion in 2012, and helped the Port Authority to raise US$3 billion for the redevelopment of New York’s World Trade Center site
• Advised the cities of Vallejo and Stockton, California, on their Chapter 9 filings
• Represented Wells Fargo Bank in connection with restructuring the debt of the two largest casino properties in North America: the Foxwoods Resort Casino and the Mohegan Sun
• Represented Barclays Bank Delaware in the establishment of the first new major US credit card master trust in nearly a decade; represented Redwood Trust in all of its pioneering public offerings of private-label MBS since the financial crisis began

Intellectual Property:
• Defended Apple in the smartphone battle with S3 Graphics before the ITC—a result that Corporate Counsel selected as the No.1 IP win of the year
• Worked with international law enforcement to help Microsoft dismantle four of the world’s largest botnets, introducing new tactics for combating cybercrime
• On behalf of NVIDIA, achieved a successful settlement (including a licensing agreement) with Rambus involving a complex series of patent and antitrust disputes
• Prevailed before the ITC on behalf of Nintendo, defeating a patent infringement claim relating to the Wii system—Financial Times cited this as one of the most innovative client results of 2012
• Secured a victory for Dow AgroSciences in litigation brought by Bayer with respect to genetically modified plant patents
• Representing DISH Network in a copyright infringement battle brought by Fox and other networks relating to DISH’s AutoHop DVR feature

Litigation:
