Practice Areas: John Schmidt concentrates on mergers and acquisitions and other large-scale transactions, governmental matters and litigation. Recently, he has focused heavily on public-private partnerships involving the acquisition, maintenance and development of US transportation infrastructure. He was counsel to the first privatization of an American toll road, and was named “Dealmaker of the Year” by the American Lawyer for his work. He is now representing states, local government entities and private parties in other privatization initiatives.
