Practice Areas: Handles public, employers' and motor liability cases predominately for emergency services and public authorities and their insurers. Deals with Proceeds of Crime cases and other crime and disorder legislation claims, including judicial review and general operational advice. Reported cases include Langley v LCC and Merseyside Police (CA, 2005), and Court of Appeal case involving clarification of police protection powers and Human Rights Act, a successful claim for judicial review in R (ex parte Chief Constable of North Wales Police) v the Anglesey Justices in the Administrative Court and Shields v Chief Constable of Merseyside Police (CA 2010) on clarification of the statutory arrest regime.
