Practice Areas: Penny specialises in litigation and advisory work relating to intellectual property rights particularly in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields. Her background in the life sciences has lead to her acting in patent litigation for pharmaceutical multinationals and for biotech companies including, for example, Chiron/Novartis, Elan, Napp, Human Genome Sciences and Affymetrix. She has also acted in litigation and arbitrations over disputed technology contracts, including patent licences. She is experienced in co-ordinating multi-jurisdictional litigation, has represented clients in European Patent Office opposition proceedings and advises on freedom-to-operate issues. Penny is also a qualified mediator and a solicitor advocate.
