THE FIRM GT Stewart Solicitors is one of the largest teams of criminal lawyers in London and the South East. The firm has a team of HCAs, as well as a specialist Very High Cost Case Team, representing clients throughout England and Wales in all areas of crime work, including criminal defence appeals, confiscations and prison law issues. The firm accepts both publicly funded and private work and are happy to agree fees in advance. The firm is highly experienced in dealing with all aspects of criminal defence work, from arrest to the Supreme Court. The firm also has a particular expertise in dealing with young people and vulnerable clients.
In addition to the firm’s extensive criminal work, the firm has specialist civil teams who deal with housing, family, child care, mental health and actions against the police or public authorities. Another growing area for the firm is extradition work,which has included the notable case of H-K v Polish Judicial Authority [2012] UKSC 25.
Greg Stewart, the firm’s Principal, is a member of the Law Society’s Criminal Law Committee and he is responsible for matters relating to children and young people in the criminal justice system.
