Practice Areas: Partner in Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz's Restructuring and Finance Department, representing bank and bondholder groups and significant shareholders, creditors and acquirers in many large bankruptcy cases and out-of-court restructurings in the United States, as well as other countries, including, over the past five years, the Hawker Beechcraft, Kerzner, Washington Mutual, Lyondell, Fontainebleau Las Vegas, Spectrum Brands, Masonite Corporation, FairPoint Communications, Chrysler and Delphi Corporation matters. Also represents borrowers in leveraged buyouts, mergers and other complex financing transactions.

Professional Memberships: Immediate past co-chair of the International Secured Transactions & Insolvency Committee of the ABA Section of International Law, fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy and vice-chair of the Bankruptcy and Reorganization Group of the UJA - Federation of New York's Lawyers Division.

Career: Partner at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz since 1994. Has given numerous seminars on bankruptcy subjects for Practising Law Institute, the Canadian Institute, the American Bankruptcy Institute/New York University School of Law Bankruptcy and Business Reorganization Workshop, the NYU Pollack Center for Law & Business, Columbia University Business School, Columbia University Law School, LUISS Guido Carli (Rome) and other prominent organisations. Listed in the K&A Restructuring Register as one of the top 100 restructuring advisors in the United States.

Publications: Co-author of Chapter 90 of 'Collier's Bankruptcy Practice Guide'.   

Personal: Graduated magna cum laude from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1983 (BS, Economics) where he was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi honour fraternity; and cum laude from New York University in 1987 (JD) where he became a Member of the Order of the Coif and was on the staff of the 'Annual Survey of American Law'. Member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the Boy Scouts of America's Greater New York Councils and recipient of the Scouts’ Silver Beaver Award. Founded (along with his wife and children) the Mason Family Civic League, a 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to providing educational, art and civic support in Hoboken, New Jersey and beyond.
