Côte d'Ivoire: New mining code passed
The parliament of Côte d'Ivoire voted in a new mining code last week, which it hopes will attract more investors, increase transparency and modernise the mining sector. The new code is part of the government's commitment to double the country's gold output by next year. Read more here.

Dentons and Lavery, de Billy have proved to be popular destinations for lawyers following the winding up of Heenan Blaikie. Last week it was reported that 85 Heenan lawyers and support staff have joined the ranks of Lavery, de Billy, with 46 lawyers joining Dentons – see Financial Post report.

Canadian firm Heenan Blaikie has announced "an orderly wind-up of the firm's operations".
According to the firm's press release, "several practice groups and even entire offices will continue to operate under new names".
NRF and McLaren rally in partnership
Norton Rose Fulbright has been appointed global legal advisor to the McLaren Mercedes Formula 1 team.
According to Norton Rose Fulbright's press release, it is the first tie up of its kind on a global level.
The firm will work closely with McLaren Group’s in-house legal team, providing a range of services including corporate and M&A, contractual and intellectual property, real estate and employment law.
