The department is headed by David Mpanga, previously a legal services manager for PricewaterhouseCoopers (Uganda), a leading audit firm
• Advising and representing FINASI SRL, an Italian Company on a Government of Uganda hospital project to; design, finance, construct, equip and operate two specialised hospitals for a period of ten years. The scope of services involves structuring, negotiating and documentation, valued at USD350 Million dollars
• Representing FINASI SRL in setting up Uganda Vinci Coffee Company Limited to establish a USD85million dollar Soluble Coffee Processing project. The scope of service involves structuring, setting up the entity, negotiating of incentives and subsidies with the Government of Uganda
• Advised National Insurance Corporation, a company listed on the Uganda Securities Exchange on Rights issue worth USD 2.7million dollars

Litigation & Arbitration:
The firm’s Litigation and Arbitration Department is headed by Peter Kabatsi, formerly Solicitor General of Uganda and Joseph Matsiko, formerly Director of Litigation in the Ministry of Justice.
• Successfully represented the leading Telecom Company, MTN (U) Limited in a USD 2.5million dollar dispute against Uganda Telecom Ltd
• Successfully represented Uganda National Roads Authority in litigation worth 67million Euros against REYNOLDS.
• Successfully represented the national telecom and broadcasting regulatory body (Uganda Communications Commission) in a suit that challenged its corporate status
• Successfully led a team of lawyers representing the telecom & broadcasting regulator and 7 other telecom companies against Human Rights for Journalists, in a dispute that sought to challenge SIM Card registration exercise
• Successfully represented the NRM ruling party in a constitutional litigation dispute brought by some members of the Parliament of Uganda
• Has been engaged by the Ugandan telecom regulator (UCC) in a dispute involving USD 500 million

Revenue & Taxation:
The firm’s Taxation Department is headed by Oscar Kambona, one of the most renowned tax lawyers in the country.
• Tullow Vs. URA. This is a USD 475 million dollar tax dispute against URA before Commercial Court of Uganda, revolving around Capital gains tax arising from disposal of interest in oil blocks
• NSSF Vs. URA. This is a USD 25.4million Dollar income tax regarding deposits made by contributors and whether they should be liable to income tax
• UMEME Ltd(Power Distribution Co.) Vs.URA. This is a USD 33.8million dollar dispute before the Commercial Court against URA regarding the taxability of assets that were passed over from government to the Co. under a concession agreement
• UAP Insurance Vs. URA. Dispute over the VAT refund claim of USD 3.8Million dollar due from URA. The dispute still is whether the Co. paid the input tax and whether it made taxable supplies, to entitle them to claim back the VAT refund
