Corporate/M&A - Missouri

THE FIRM Global firm SNR Denton is noted for offering international law firm expertise at Midwestern rates. It serves corporate clients from offices in both Kansas City and St. Louis on M&A and private equity transactions. After its merger with leading European and Canadian firms Salans and Fraser Milner Casgrain, the firm is now able to offer a wider reach to clients.

KEY INDIVIDUALS Senior practitioner Robert Fisher is best known for his M&A capabilities, especially in the private midmarket. He is highly respected among peers, who describe him as "a very smart guy who has been doing deals forever and has a great reputation."

John Marvin is also a widely respected senior partner at the firm, giving the team the benefit of more than 30 years of practice. He is notably strong for securities regulation work, including IPOs, after-market trading and control compliance, and general corporate law.

Bruce Davison is appreciated for his strong technical abilities and expertise in tax matters. He focuses upon M&A and real estate work for limited liability companies, exempt organizations, and trusts and estates.

Michael Van Dyke has over 35 years of experience in the corporate practice and is prized for his particular strengths in M&A and business finance. His work has often focused on representing financial institutions, including lenders on financing for startups.

Litigation - Missouri

THE FIRM This group of dedicated commercial litigation attorneys is well versed in defending clients against class actions and bet-the-company cases, and has particular expertise acting for the insurance and financial services industries. It is also mandated on IP, antitrust and construction cases, among other matters.

KEY INDIVIDUALS Stephen Rovak operates a varied practice which takes in commercial, product liability, IP and franchise litigation. He is chair of the litigation and arbitration practice in St. Louis, and is also an experienced mediator and arbitrator.

Noted for his "prestige and experience," Jerome Wolf is also described as "well respected by the court." He specializes in complex civil and commercial litigation. A recent highlight saw him achieving decertification of a putative class of over a thousand plaintiffs.

Kansas City attorney Curtis Woods draws particular respect from peers for his white-collar criminal litigation skills. He also handles commercial, antitrust, business tort, IP and fraud cases. 

Stephen Hill recently joined the team from Husch Blackwell LLP. Sources say Hill "is a very knowledgeable and skilled trial attorney, and has a great practice in the region." He is increasingly focused on complex investigations and white-collar criminal defense work, and is chair of the firm’s government, compliance, investigations and litigation department. Clients benefit from his experience as a former US Attorney.

Patrick McInerney recently joined the team from Husch Blackwell. McInerney is regularly called upon to advise on investigations initiated by the SEC. Commentators note that he is a litigator who "is hard-nosed but cordial at the same time, with wonderful trial skills."

Real Estate - Missouri

THE FIRM This practice is able to draw upon national and international resources beyond those available in its Missouri-based offices. The firm represents a wide range of clients, from investors and lenders to developers and owners. It has a diverse workload, advising on planning and zoning matters, regeneration and tax-efficient structuring.

KEY INDIVIDUALS Jennifer Marler is particularly noted as "a good finance lawyer," although her expertise also extends to development work.
