Practice Areas: Mr Slater's practice focuses on complex litigation matters with emphasis on antitrust, intellectual property, trade secrets, unfair trade practices, product liability and white collar criminal defense. He has handled over 70 jury trials in courts throughout the US. Mr Slater has handled dozens of civil antitrust cases, many of which were national in scope, including numerous antitrust class action cases that were consolidated by the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation. He has also handled criminal and civil actions brought by the US Justice Department. In 2005, he was co-lead Counsel in a mock jury trial program sponsored by the American Bar Association Antitrust Section.

Professional Memberships: Fellow, American College of Trial Attorneys; Fellow, American Bar Foundation; Fellow, Virginia Law Foundation; Member, Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference; Listed in 'Best Lawyers in America' for over 10 years, antitrust and corporate litigation. He has been listed on numerous occasions in Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in America, and as a "trial ace" on Lawdragon's Top 500 Leading Litigators list.

Career: Mr Slater has been active in Bar and community activities. He is a past President of the Richmond Bar Association and a Former Member of the Virginia State Bar Executive Committee. He currently serves as Chairman, Board of Directors, Central Virginia Legal Aid Society and Chairman of Board of Trustees, the Virginia Historical Society.
