Career: Ms. Chen is a partner in the Compensation and Benefits group, based in Orrick’s Silicon Valley office. She focuses primarily on compensation and employee benefits issues for emerging growth companies. Ms. Chen advises clients on employment and separation matters, including the tax and securities issues related to equity-based compensation, such as stock options, restricted stock and restricted stock units. Ms. Chen also represents companies in initial public offerings and acquisitions with respect to employment and compensation matters. She received her J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School and received her A.B., Phi Beta Kappa, from Stanford University.
