Career: Gerald Schiff is a member in the Lafayette office of Gordon Arata where he practices in the areas of Mediation and Bankruptcy/Debtor-Creditor law. He is a former U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Western District of Louisiana (August 1992—September 2006). His practice embodies bankruptcy law from all perspectives—debtor, creditor, trustee, and creditors’ committees, and he is familiar with all of the Bankruptcy Code. He has mediated bankruptcy and non-bankruptcy cases in both State and Federal Courts. Additionally, he has served as a Special Master in both State and Federal Courts, and currently serves as a Chapter 11 Trustee.
