Practice Areas: Chair, Securities Litigation and Enforcement Practice Group. Practice concentrates on securities and financial reporting with emphasis in accounting irregularities. Represents companies, audit committees, officers, directors, accounting firms, and investment banks in domestic and international securities class actions, SEC and other governmental proceedings, and special investigations. Experience includes landmark jury verdict for defense in first securities class action tried before jury pursuant to Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995. Recent matters include securities litigation and regulatory proceedings arising out of the subprime crisis, including the representation of AIG risk management, the representation of Bear Stearns’ chief accounting officer, and the representation of KPMG.
