• Represented Hercules Offshore in its acquisition of Seahawk’s drilling rig assets through Sec. 363 purchase
Oil, Gas & Energy:
• Represented Brigham Exploration Company in its sale to Statoil ASA for approximately $4.4 billion
• Completed $1.4 billion deal for Mitsui & Co. with Anadarko to explore/develop natural gas in Marcellus Shale
• Assisted Infinity Energy Resources in oil and gas concessions for 1.4 million acres off Nicaraguan coast
Environmental:
• Represent energy firms on environmental issues with E&P, midstream, and downstream operations
• Challenged an ordinance adopted by the Houston City Council on behalf of BNSF, Union Pacific, and HBT
• Assist Dow in a federal Superfund action seeking response actions of former customers of oil recycling plant
Finance:
• Represented agent bank in $4 billion syndicated revolving credit facility with large E&P company
• Represented Apache Corp. in $3.95 billion financing raised in part to facilitate acquisition of BP assets
• Represented agent bank in $3.5 billion syndicated revolving credit facility for large energy partnership
Health:
• Manage more than 125 hospital contract litigation cases nationwide for a Fortune 200 hospital company
• Represent hospital systems and healthcare providers in investigations, litigation, and compliance
• Represented a healthcare corporation in a case asserting violations of federal/state antitrust statutes
Intellectual Property & Technology:
• Represented US air carrier in patent litigation in E. Dist. of Texas involving internet server technology
• Represented semiconductor manufacturer in patent litigation in California involving eight US patents
• Prepared/prosecuted patent applications related to hydrogen hybrid locomotive for national railroad company
Labor & Employment:
• Assisted transportation employer in resisting EEOC investigatory subpoenas and resolving multiple lawsuits

• Represented Brigham Exploration Company in the tax issues related to its $4.4 billion sale to Statoil ASA

• Represented Petrobras America Inc. and affiliates in an arbitration involving ownership of a joint venture
• Represented a national airline that was sued on tort claims arising from the discharge of an employee
