Profile

Practice Areas: Undertaken work on a range of major housing, employment, retail, leisure and infrastructure applications on behalf of a number of public authorities, developers and utility companies. Has been heavily involved in compulsory purchase schemes for highways and town centre redevelopment.

Professional Memberships: Holds Diploma in Local Government Law and Practice. Provides training for local authorities. Legal member of RTPI and has presented papers at a number of conferences organised by RTPI. Has lectured on post-graduate diploma for Planning and Environmental Law at Leeds Metropolitan University.

Career: David is Director of Walton & Co and is a qualified solicitor (1982). David set up the practice in September 2004 following 9yrs at Wilbraham & Co, the latter 5yrs as Partner. Previously worked in public sector for 15yrs undertaking a range of major planning, highways and compensation work. At Leeds City Council (where he worked for 7yrs) he became Assistant Chief Legal Officer.
