The Firm Harcus Sinclair is a niche law firm, specialising in advising private clients on trusts, tax and family law. The practice was established in January 2002 by the founding partners, who previously worked together in a large London law firm before deciding to establish a new practice dedicated to private clients. All have extensive experience in their areas of law. Their objective in setting up Harcus Sinclair was to provide high-quality specialist professional advice in an environment specifically tailored to the objectives of private clients. Through concentrating on the needs of the individual, their families and their trusts, Harcus Sinclair is able to provide a personal service within a cost base that gives good value to its clients, who range from UK private clients of all backgrounds to the internationally wealthy.

Principal Areas of Work The firm's main specialisms are trusts, probate, tax and family law work; both contentious and non-contentious.
Private Client: The Private Client Practice of Harcus Sinclair is led by a partner of over 25 years' experience in the field. He is one of the authors of two precedent books on trusts and wills and an original co-editor of an international trust law compendium. He and another partner act for a wide range of UK and overseas-based individuals and trustees. They place a strong emphasis on innovative tax and estate planning solutions. There is a large international dimension to their work.
Contentious Trust & Probate: The firm also has a specialist Litigation Practice primarily in the fields of trust litigation, contentious probate and professional negligence arising out of the failure of taxation schemes. This is led by two partners with considerable experience in complex trust and probate disputes, many of which involve offshore jurisdictions.
Family Law: The firm's Family Law Practice is headed up by a leading family law practitioner with widely-acclaimed experience in complex cases. He and a team of specialist colleagues advise on all legal issues arising from the breakdown of marriage and other relationships, as well as on pre-nuptial agreements and child-related matters, often in an international context.
