Commercial Property: The department has an excellent reputation for investment work for institutions and property companies, development work including major town centre regeneration schemes, and acting for public sector bodies and occupiers. Clients include: Invista Real Estate, British Airways Pensions, Chester City Council, Shaftesbury and The Mercers' Company. Specialist teams: planning, construction, property litigation, property finance and hotels enhance Forsters' all round property service.
Residential Property: Forsters acts for UK and overseas-based landlords, tenants, investors, individuals and developers. Its Leasehold Enfranchisement Team acts for major estates and residents associations and individuals.
Private Client: Forsters continues to build on its reputation as a leading firm. Clients include individuals, trusts, landed estates, charities and private banks. Advice is provided on tax and estate planning for UK and offshore clients
The Offshore Tax and Trust Team, led by partners Carole Cook and Patrick Harney, is expanding with the appointment of Kelly Noel-Smith from Radcliffes LeBrasseur. Other services include wills and probate, domicile and residence issues and the establishment of trusts.
Landed Estates: With the arrival of Penny Elliott, Andrew Lane and Catherine Hill from Withers, added to Forsters' existing Landed Estates Team, Forsters is now one of the leading firms in this area, providing innovative solutions on tax and property issues.
Divorce & Family: The Family Group deals with high net worth settlements on divorce and separation and all family-related issues, often involving an international element and questions of jurisdiction.
Corporate: The firm acts for listed and private companies, financial institutions, partnerships, sole traders and entrepreneurs on a range of commercial issues, and offers specialist employment law advice. The Corporate Group works with the Commercial Property Department in the structuring of property transactions through limited and limited liability partnerships, JV agreements and REITs.
Two new partners have been appointed: Craigie Pearson who focuses on hotels and leisure, and the not for profit sectors, and Elizabeth Small, a corporate and property tax lawyer.
Litigation: The Litigation Team has carved itself a niche in contentious trusts and probate matters as well as growing its commercial and banking litigation capabilities.
