A firm whose approach to doing business is structured around developing long term relationships with clients, its people and local and global communities. In May 2012 international law firm Pinsent Masons and national law firm McGrigors merged. The combined firm, operating worldwide under the name and brand of Pinsent Masons, employs over 2500 people in total including over 1500 lawyers, 500 of whom are based in Pinsent Masons’ international headquarters in the City of London.
PRINCIPAL AREAS OF WORK With over 1,500 partners and legal staff worldwide, working with major international and UK corporations, institutions and public bodies, the firm has strong global credentials in four sectors: advanced manufacturing and technology, energy and natural resources, financial services and infrastructure. It also has considerable knowledge and expertise across a wide range of industries and services which cover (for example) corporate, M&A, commercial, competition, litigation and arbitration, banking, restructuring, insurance, financial services and regulatory, construction and infrastructure, projects, pensions, property, planning and environmental, procurement, energy (including oil and gas, renewables and nuclear), natural resources, outsourcing, employment, share plans, technology and tax.
CLIENTS Pinsent Masons’ emphasis on listening, understanding and building strong working partnerships has proved essential to the firm’s many successful client relationships, evidenced by the large number of FTSE350 and equivalent clients for which the firm acts.
INTERNATIONAL The firm operates out of four “hubs” in the UK, mainland Europe, UAE and Asia with business across Europe, CIS, Middle East, Africa, India and Asia. Pinsent Masons has offices in Munich, Dubai, Qatar, The Falkland Islands, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Singapore (where the firm operates a Joint Law Venture, Pinsent Masons MPillay LLP) as well as in key business centres throughout the UK (where it is the only firm with offices in all three legal jurisdictions). In China, the firm has an innovative long-term cooperation agreement with the Beijing Hesen Law Firm, a specialist construction law-focused Chinese legal practice. It will be opening a new office in Paris, France in Autumn 2012.
