THE FIRM Sherrards’ client base ranges from multinational retailers to family run businesses. Much of Sherrards’ work is of a cross-border/international nature. Clients include the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), Domino’s UK & IRL plc, Structadene Group, Ann Summers, Menkind Stores and Esquires Coffee Houses.
PRINCIPAL AREAS OF WORK
Corporate & Commercial: Covering the full range of corporate and commercial work, the team has additional expertise in IP, Employment and Charities. Jean-Paul da Costa heads the team (formerly Head of Corporate at Thomas Eggar).
Corporate Finance: Leading lawyer Keith Robinson, former head of corporate at DMH Stallard, joined Sherrards in 2010 to head the unit.
Commercial Property: Complex property transactions, including joint ventures and finance agreements; acquisition and disposal of retail property, hotels, restaurants and pubs; property development (commercial and residential); investment property acquisition and disposal and management work; compulsory purchase and environmental issues. Terry Fendt heads the Commercial Property Team.
Franchising: Affiliated to the British Franchise Association, Sherrards works with some of the biggest names in franchising. The team includes leading franchise lawyer, Manzoor Ishani.
Dispute Resolution & Litigation: Under the energetic leadership of Paul Marmor, the team provides a prompt, accessible and responsive service that manages the risks and maximises the strength of the client’s position.
International: An international and global approach is at the heart of the firm’s strategy. Complex international litigation and commercial law advice is provided to overseas clients and UK clients operating globally.
Private Client: The team has highly respected capability in wills, tax and probate matters as well as residential property.
