Practice Areas: Anton R. Valukas is Chairman of Jenner & Block and a member of the Firm’s Litigation Department. A former U.S. Attorney, Mr. Valukas is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. As a civil litigator, he has extensive experience in the areas of mass tort and class actions. As a white-collar criminal defense attorney, Mr. Valukas’ clients have included lawyers, accountants, real estate developers, and corporate executives in high-profile matters.

Career: Mr. Valukas has extensive experience in a wide variety of matters relating to health care, government contracts and issues of fraud and compliance. He represents Fortune 500 companies and public entities with regard to conflicts of interest, ethics violations and internal corporate investigations, as well as in SEC investigations and civil securities fraud lawsuits. Recently, he successfully represented American Airlines in complex litigation arising from the 2001 crash of Flight #587. He also led the successful defense of General Motors in a recently settled SEC investigation. In 2009, Mr. Valukas was named court-appointed Examiner in the Lehman Brothers Holdings bankruptcy, the largest in U.S. history; his 2,200 page report on the matter was completed in early 2010.
