PRINCIPAL AREAS OF WORK
Alternative Investment Funds: Private and alternative investment funds are a core practice in the London office. Proskauer acts for more than 300 private investment firms and more than 50 hedge fund groups globally. The firm’s London office offers a complete, one-stop service to the investment fund industry, advising both sponsors (GP/managers) and institutional investors (LPs) on: private equity, hedge, real estate, mezzanine debt, venture capital and quoted funds; carry incentive schemes; start-ups and spin-outs; financial regulation; secondaries transactions; and financings.
Finance: The London team has particular experience representing lenders in multi-tranche and junior capital transactions and regularly represents mezzanine and hedge funds and other special situation lenders, banks and insurance companies in complex UK and cross-border transactions with a focus on: mezzanine debt and junior capital; acquisition and leveraged finance; secured and unsecured loans; distressed debt; and workouts and restructurings.
Mergers & Acquisitions: The London M&A Team advises on every aspect of buying, selling and combining companies and businesses, including: private equity and venture capital investments and divestments; strategic acquisitions and sales; mergers; management and leveraged buyouts; spin-offs; auctions; partnerships; joint ventures; and strategic alliances.
Labour & Employment: The London office provides its clients with access to Proskauer’s globally renowned employer-focused Labour and Employment Law Department. The office offers a full range of UK labour and employment advice to its global clients, including: public and private transactions; restrictive covenants and team moves; termination issues and redundancies; counselling and litigation avoidance strategies; bonus disputes; unfair dismissal and whistleblowing; discrimination and victimisation; UK and international employment policies and handbooks; internal investigations; and trade union and collective law.
