The strength and depth of its practice across asset managers, banks, insurers and the financial services and markets sector is reflected in its panel memberships of over 50 major global financial institutions. Its work covers all aspects of corporate, regulatory and transactional work, significant strategic mandates, litigation and dispute resolution.
Energy: The Group has one of the largest global energy teams of any legal practice in the world. The firm's work is conducted in all the major global energy markets and covers the full spectrum of industry sectors including: climate change, oil and gas, power, regulated utilities, renewables and water. Its breadth of experience is combined with strengths in multiple related disciplines such as project finance, M&A, environmental safety and planning, litigation and dispute resolution, and regulation.
Infrastructure, Mining & Commodities: Norton Rose has a leading international infrastructure practice, which plays a role in almost every major project around the world, including those involving significant development finance. In mining, the firm has experience of acting on transactions in almost every country in the world and the specialist expertise gained by its lawyers through work on some of the largest and most innovative mining deals in recent years means that it is well known for the outstanding quality of its work. The firm also advises clients in every stage of the commodities cycle from financing through to distribution, and specialises in water, soft commodities, metals and oil and gas.
Transport: Norton Rose has some 300 transport specialists covering all legal disciplines, and more asset finance experts than any other international legal practice. The technology and innovation team bring together leading practitioners from the Group’s corporate, finance, competition, regulatory, intellectual property, employment, dispute resolution and tax practices. It advises on all aspects of technology and intellectual property development, protection, procurement and licensing and on all types of transactions where technology and innovation are important components such as licence agreements, joint ventures, outsourcing, financing (including project, leverage, vendor and acquisition financing), venture capital and private equity investments and buy-outs, and public and private mergers and acquisitions.
Pharmaceuticals & Life Sciences: Norton Rose advises major global pharmaceuticals, bioscience and technology companies on all aspects of their business from innovation and corporate development, commercialisation and market exploitation through to the maintenance and enforcement of intellectual property rights.
