Practice Areas: Head of Wilsons charities team, Moira is an expert in charity law. She advises on the establishment of charities, trustee powers and duties, schemes, taxation, grant-making, fundraising, mergers, disposal of land and buildings, dealings with and inquiries by the Charity Commission, constitutional and good governance issues. She also advises businesses on commercial participation, professional fundraiser regulations and corporate social responsibility; the public sector; including the lottery boards, central and local government on charity law (especially the use of charity land), finance and funding structures. Moira frequently lectures on charity law issues.

Professional Memberships: Charity Law Association, Charity Finance Directors Group and the Law Society.

Career: Trained at and employed by SJ Berwin. Qualified in 1980. Became a Partner of SJ Berwin in 1998. Became a Partner of Berwin Leighton Paisner in September 2000 and a partner at Wilsons in September 2008.

Publications: Recently published articles for Family Foundation Advisor (a US publication) and CARITAS.

Personal: Born 1 October 1957; interests include international travel, family, food, wine and needlework. Moira is a governor of Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation.
