Specialisation: Wide range of trial experience as leading junior and junior to Queens Counsel including allegations of terrorism, homicide, large scale drug importations and fraud. Extensive appellate experience including Huckerby - (December 2004) security driver convicted of being inside-man in what was then the largest cash armed robbery in Europe; Hulme (April 2005) Real IRA bombers appeal; Harris and Cherry (June 2005) Shaken Baby Syndrome appeals; Boreman (June 2006) successful appeal based on criticisms of well known Home office pathologist (Guardian 20/06/06). Christie (May 2008) appellant convicted of alleged 'Johnson Crew' murder of doorman in Birmingham; Holdsworth (April 2008) sucessful appeal and retrial of babysitter accused of murdering two year old child who she was babysitting. McDaid & Clarke (November 2007) House of Lords appeal where it was held that a trial on an 'unsigned indictment' could not be the basis for a valid conviction; In 2007 represented Ian Gay acquitted of manslaughter following allegations that he and his wife had 'salt poisoned' their adopted son; Grant (October 2007) Leading junior in alleged large scale (over 'a31 million) handling conspiracy; Emmanuel (May 2008) Represented only defendant acquitted of the 'contract murder' of PC Nisha Patel Nasri arranged by her husband. Ali (May 2009) represented defendant accused of murdering ex-girlfriend and sister in Birmingham.
