The Chambers Founded in The Temple more than 50 years ago, this leading specialist set has always striven for excellence. In addition to a strong core of work in London, members have developed substantial links on the South Eastern and Western circuits. This has led One Paper Buildings to develop a diversity of work and geographical coverage that makes it stand apart from other sets. Members originally held very mixed common law practices but in recent years the set has developed greater specialisation in its crime, health and safety, regulatory, armed forces and aviation law practices. This focus has resulted in stronger training within chambers and the development of outstanding advocates. The clerks work as a close and dedicated team and are proud to be part of a set that is planning many years ahead. Chambers is delighted that a number of the clerking team has remained at the set since the start of their careers. Practitioners and the clerking team are acutely aware of the importance of pre-trial conferences and every effort to accommodate the needs of professional and lay clients. Conferences can be held in chambers, solicitors' offices or elsewhere and can often be held at very short notice. As well as having some of the leading practitioners on the South Eastern and Western circuits, the set retains a strong collegiate atmosphere of friendliness and support among all who practice from it. Chambers was one of the first sets to be awarded the "Quality Mark" from The Legal Services Commission.

Work Undertaken Chambers has an outstanding record in defending and prosecuting cases of high profile and notoriety. Recent examples include the Soham murder and Fallon racing fraud. Commercial fraud and Inland Revenue cases are routinely undertaken as well as money-laundering and confiscation proceedings. Expertise is provided in all types of criminal matters in both privately and publicly funded cases. Many have an international element, such as the Cayman Islands. Members are also regularly instructed in crime related areas including health and safety, licensing and gaming, disciplinary tribunals and Courts Martial. One Paper Buildings will retain its insistence on high quality recruitment at all levels of call and plans to grow in numbers in a controlled manner over the next few years. To help achieve this strategy the clerks will place an even greater emphasis on effective client contact.

International Afrikaans, French, German, Greek and Norwegian are spoken and one member is fluent in sign language.
