Practice Areas: Toby litigates over the terms of a wide range of commercial contracts (for example, distribution, share sale, asset purchase and option agreements); derivatives disputes; professional negligence; trust and probate claims; shareholder disputes. Toby acts for a number of leading financial institutions and blue chip corporates.

Career: Toby was a solicitor with Allen & Overy in London from 1993-97, Slaughter and May in Hong Kong from 1997-2000, and Allen & Overy in London 2000-03. In 2003, he joined Gibson & Co as a Partner to establish a niche litigation practice. Gibson & Co is a five partner firm with offices in Newcastle and Hexham. Established in the 1720s, it is one of the oldest firms in the country and Toby is the tenth generation of his family to work in the firm.
