Practice Areas: Gavin Anderson specialises in white-collar criminal law and regulatory matters, appearing regularly in the High Court of Justiciary, Sheriff Courts and Tribunals throughout Scotland. He is frequently instructed to act in health and safety prosecutions involving fatality or serious injury, environmental crimes involving pollution and waste management, as well as other forms of commercial crime, including fraud, money laundering, bankruptcy, licensing, financial services and company director offences. He has been instructed for the defence in several prosecutions arising out of fatal road traffic accidents. He has acted in Fatal Accident Inquiry proceedings in relation to deaths in the workplace and in custody. Mr Anderson currently represents a number of private companies and public sector organisations in relation to health and safety prosecutions; his current caseload includes prosecutions relating to a gas explosion, manufacturing processes, roads maintenance procedures, traffic management systems and hospital patient safety. He continues to lecture at CPD events in the areas of health and safety prosecutions and regulatory crime. Mr Anderson recently provided advice to a large multi-national company in relation to the Scottish aspects of a UK-wide police investigation. He has also recently advised in relation to investigations undertaken by HM Customs & Excise, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency.
