THE CHAMBERS Murray Stable was formed by senior clerk Iain Murray in 1991 and has developed into one of the most experienced groups at the Scottish Bar. The 35 members provide a unique blend of experience and budding talent and provide advice and representation in all areas of Scottish public, private and administrative law. A number of members are leaders in their respective areas of expertise. Uniquely at the Scottish Bar the stable has four special interest groups: Public and Administrative Law Group, Family Law Group, Employment Law Group, Commercial and Insolvency Group.
WORK UNDERTAKEN In line with the traditions of the Scottish Bar,Murray Stable offers experience in all areas of civil law. It has a reputation for excellence in the fields of public law, judicial review, employment and family law. The main areas of work undertaken are; public law, including judicial review, employment, family and matrimonial, asylum, immigration and extradition, commercial and companies, personal injury, professional and clinical negligence and alternative dispute resolution.
CLIENTS The stable regularly receives instructions on behalf of private clients and legally aided, insurance or union backed clients. It can also accept instructions from bodies awarded direct access rights by the Faculty of Advocates.
INTERNATIONAL Several members of Murray Stable are also practising barristers and well placed to offer advice on cross-border issues.
