This full-service firm holds a strong position in the Peruvian IP market. Luis Alonso García Muñoz-Nájar is a revered figure in the field and has a wealth of expertise in the sector. This firm has developed an impressive presence in the IP market and has an enviable client portfolio. The firm also stands out for its strong track record in anti-piracy issues. Since publication, Adriana Barrera and María Inés Herrera have left the firm. This full-service firm has developed its presence and importance in the IP market. The 21-strong team comprises lawyers as well as chemists and pharmaceutical chemists. This firm has a strong IP practice group which represents an array of different clients, including high-profile names from the pharmaceutical and fashion industry. Arturo Tello's excellent standing in the market has placed the firm in good stead in this field. Sources highlight his strong business acumen and describe him as a lawyer with a “good analytical mind, who is able to see and address issues succinctly and clearly.” Alongside his team, Tello recently represented Armani in the successful opposition of several conflicting trade marks.

Duany & Kresalja has been an important name in the local IP market for many years and provides advice on copyrights, trade marks and patents. Baldo Kresalja is a significant figure in the field and is hailed as “academically one of the most important IP scholars in Peru – he is very intelligent, prepared and knowledgeable.” Rosa María Kresalja follows in her father’s footsteps and is starting to make a name for herself. “She is specialised in IP and is one of the best-positioned lawyers to take care of our needs because of her great education and background,” enthuse clients.

Much of the department’s recent success can be attributed to senior associate Enrique Cavero Safra, who heads the team. Rosselló Abogados has proved itself a noteworthy player in IP through the number of prestigious clients that it represents in this field, including Chrysler, UEFA and FIFA. The team recently assisted FIFA with ceasing unauthorised usage of the company’s logo and unauthorised importation of merchandise. Department head Juan Pablo Schiantarelli splits his time between IP and competition law. The groups represents clients in the education, construction and pharmaceutical sectors. Alvaro Echeandía is the firm's foremost practitioner. His recent successes include representing clients in the defence of oppositions against L'Oréal, Clarin and Unilever. Jaime Durand Planas of García Sayán Abogados is a well-respected lawyer in the field and is praised for his strong communication skills.
