Profile

Practice Areas: Partner and Head of Homburger's Financial Services practice team. Main areas of work are banking law, financial services regulation, offerings of debt and equity-linked securities, regulatory capital instruments (in particular for banks) as well as hybrid financial instruments. Other areas of interest include internal investigations in a regulatory context, corporate finance and corporate law.

Professional Memberships: Zurich and Swiss Bar Associations, International Bar Association (member of the LPD Council and past co-chair of the Securities Law Committee and of the Capital Markets Forum).

Career: Qualified in 1990, registered in the Bar Register of the Canton of Zurich. Joined Homburger in 1989, Partner since 1998.

Publications: Several publications on financial services regulation and securities law issues, most recently on contingent convertible instruments. Author in the Basle Commentary on the Swiss Banking Act. Co-editor of the Basle Commentary on the Swiss Act on Collective Investment Schemes (published 2009) and co-editor of the Swiss capital markets newsletter 'CapLaw'. Editor of 'Banking Regulation', The European Lawyer Reference Series, published by Thomson Reuters 2012.

Personal: Born 1959. Graduated as Dr iur from the University of Zurich in 1987 and received a Masters Degree (LLM) from the University of Chicago in 1991.
