Practice Areas: Miguel leads Freshfields' Spanish private equity tax team and specialises in corporate tax planning, advising on corporate finance transactional work, principally M&A, restructurings and LBOs. He advises international private equity funds in M&A, fund structuring and remuneration plans. He has broad experience in investment funds and partnership taxation. His clients include CPPIB, Permira, Advent, Abertis, Caixa, Agbar and ArcLight. He has led the tax advice on the debt restructurings of Panrico and Dinosol Supermercados; €1.2bn sale and lease back of BBVA’s real estate portfolio; and Caixa’s €7bn reorganisation of its industrial portfolio and subsequent IPO.
