Well-known and respected Amir Jahanguiri is a key member of the team. His areas of expertise include the financing of energy and infrastructure projects, and the financing of highly regulated projects.

Younger but increasingly prominent public lawyer Vincent Brenot has particular expertise in environment law issues.

KEY INDIVIDUALS Highly respected public lawyer Noël Chahid-Nouraï recently joined the team from Allen & Overy, bringing with him long experience and a formidable reputation in the PPP area.

Yves Lepage has many years' experience in PPP and other domestic and international projects, and leads the firm's energy and infrastructure team in Europe. His recent highlights include advising first-rank banks on the financing of a 30-year PPP contract relating to the conception, construction, maintenance and management of 63 Highway Maintenance Agencies.

Counsel Jean-Luc Champy joined the group from Allen & Overy, where he established himself as a well-recognised player on the PPP scene, on the public law side.

Relatively young but active and well-respected Sophie Pignon-Xardel leads the PPP practice at Bird & Bird. She is best known for representing public entities.
Finance partner Matthieu de Varax of Mayer Brown LLP advises arranging banks, sponsors, contractors and public authorities on PPP, with a particular specialism in the defence and security sector. He continues to receive rave reviews from clients, who report that "it is a pleasure to work with him. Throughout the negotiations he stayed true to the core values of the deal and did not compromise them just to get the contract signed."
Michel Lequien of Ashurst has been especially busy on international projects of late, but also has extensive experience of PPP in France.
Widely admired public lawyer Pascal Cuche recently moved from Paul Hastings to Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, where he heads the public law practice. He focuses on PPP and other infrastructure projects, advising public entities, sponsors and lenders. Clients applaud him as "an excellent negotiator and solution-finder with an extensive network of contacts."  
Formerly of Paul Hastings, counsel Marc Lordonnois joined Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP with Pascal Cuche as a member of the PPP/PFI team. He has particular expertise in PPP in the transport sector, and strong experience of regulatory issues.
Widely admired PPP expert Jérôme Pentecoste has an impressive recent track record, including assisting the consortium led by Bouygues with obtaining the partnership contract for the construction of the new Paris District Tribunal. He recently left Orrick Rambaud Martel along with other team members to join Watson, Farley & Williams LLP.
