The Chambers Europe Awards 2012 took place in Amsterdam’s Hotel Okura on Thursday, May 10th and was hosted by Chambers Europe editor Joanna Thomas. Four guest presenters in the form of group general counsel Robert Robinson from Amlin plc, Marijke van Kekem-Spit from ABN AMRO Bank, Wilma Lloyd-Schut from LyondellBasell Industries, and Judith Lichtenberg from Vodafone Netherlands took turns presenting awards.

  • Dutch firm De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek collected the award for the third time, having enjoyed previous wins in 2008 and 2009.
  • Advokatfirmaet Thommessen AS collected the award for Norway Law Firm of the Year.
  • Domanski Zakrzewski Palinka won the national award for Poland.
  • The Polish International Firm of the Year was Salans.
  • Musat & Asociatii took home the award for Romania.
  • The winner of Russian National Firm of the Year was Egorov, Puginsky, Afanasiev & Partners.
  • The Russia International prize was claimed by Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton.
  • A delighted Uría Menéndez collected the Spanish award for the second year in a row.
  • Mannheimer Swartling collected the Swedish award, as well as celebrating the Outstanding Contribution award of partner André Andersson.
  • Homburger took home the Swiss prize for the third time, having won in 2008 and 2009.
  • Clifford Chance was delighted to win the UK award for the first time.
  • Baker & McKenzie were awarded the coveted title of Central and Eastern Europe Law Firm of the Year.
  • Linklaters rounded off a fantastic evening by collecting the award for European Law Firm of the Year.
  • A proud Wolf Theiss won the client service award for Austria.
  • Belgian firm Van Bael & Bellis was recognised for its outstanding client service.
  • CMS Hasche Sigle took home the client service award for Germany.
  • Irish giant Arthur Cox was delighted with the client service award.
  • Portolano Colella Cavallo won the Italian client service award.
  • A jubilant Stek claimed the client service award for the Netherlands.
  • Campos Ferreira, Sá Carneiro & Associados were delighted with their Portuguese client service award, gained after only a year in the market.
  • Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen took home the Romanian client service award.
  • Dina Gracheva collected ALRUD’s client service award.
  • A proud Baker & McKenzie collected the Spanish award for client service.
  • Hogan Lovells took the UK client service award back to London.
  • Mannheimer Swartling’s André Andersson collected the evening’s first Outstanding Contribution award.
  • Joanna Thomas and Catherine McGregor presented Francesco Gianni of Gianni, Origoni, Grippo & Partners, in Italy, with an Outstanding Contribution award.
  • Colin Lustenhouwer from Delta NV, one of our guest presenters.
  • Maud de Vries from Corio NV was the second of our guest presenters.
  • Jonathan Gimblett of ProLogis was the third of our guest presenters.
  • A jubilant Linklaters with their hat trick of awards
  • Award Lex Mundi’s Michiel Wesseling kicked off the evening’s speeches.
  • André Andersson and Francesco Gianni celebrated their Outstanding Contribution awards together.
