Practice Areas: Emily’s experience includes acting for and advising senior executives and companies in respect of non-contentious and contentious employment matters, with a particular emphasis on the financial sector. As well as employment law experience, Emily has dealt with partnership issues, such as managing under-performing partners, Partner and Team Moves and has drafted Retirement Deeds for Partners upon exit. Emily was employed by national firm Sparke Helmor in Australia, international firm Kennedys and Fox Lawyers in London before returning to Hong Kong. Emily has a particular interest and extensive experience on advising both employees and employers on the enforceability of restrictive covenants and protecting businesses upon the departure of employees. Emily has acted for both employers and employees in bringing and defending injunctive proceedings in respect of the use of confidential information, springboard relief and breach of restrictive covenants in the High Court. Emily has written, and had published in various legal journals, articles on topics such as termination of employment and race discrimination and frequently gives seminars on employment law issues.
